RB's rambling thoughts

Today, I woke up at 4AM and had to pee. Yes, as you age, you pee more often.  I don’t remember the last time I slept through an entire night without using the bathroom.  After I peed, I noticed the toilet hadn’t been cleaned.  Yes, I vacuumed the bathroom yesterday, but I did not Swiffer or clean the sink or toilet (I did, however, clean the shower in the morning while showing – two birds, one stone – eh, I felt like I was on top of the world!). On with this blog!  So, I started with just cleaning the inside (quick job).  But then, I noticed the sides of the toilet weren’t, let’s say, hygienic, so I cleaned the sides (takes a little longer).  I stand up and look down at the floor; well, the floor around the toilet (even though I vacuumed) had marks, if you know what I mean.  I actually paused, thinking I was just getting up to pee.  But, then something from my upbringing kicked in that told me that if you are going to do the job, do it right.  So, I finished cleaning the toilet and toilet floor.  I felt good after a feeling of accomplishment; it could have been worse.  Then, with morning brain fog lifted, I realized it had only been a week since I cleaned the toilet.  But, I thought again, it could have been worse.  This brings me to my question of how often a toilet and its surrounding area should be cleaned in a house.
